Tomsk companies will present to European investors

Four Tomsk companies have qualified to present during the Russian Tech Tour session in Tomsk on September 25.

Today the Selection Committee has decided upon the 24 companies which will have a chance to present their projects to European investors. Of these 24 companies four come from Tomsk.

The Tech Tour format is unique in that investors gather to get acquainted with promising technology companies, while usually it is innovators who have to come to investors to raise money for development and promotion of their product. The Tech Tour brings investors to the cities where innovation-driven companies reside. In 2009 Tomsk was selected as one of the three cities to host the Russian Tech Tour (RTT). The Tour will also visit Moscow and Kazan. In three days (September 23, 24 and 25) investors will see 24 presentations of Russian companies.

Nizhny Novgorod and St. Petersburg applied to host the RTT, but the organizers felt Tomsk and Kazan suited better. Governments of Tomsk Region and Tatarstan have appropriated a substantial sum of money for the event and intercity charter flights for the delegates. The date for the XII Innovation Forum with International Participation in Tomsk was shifted so that it would coincide with the RTT events. ETT has selected a few business-partners to facilitate distribution of information, among them IMC FiBr, as its General Director Nikolay Badulin is a member of the RTT Selection Committee. Another Tomsk representative in the Selection Committee is Sergei Melchenko, Director of the Tomsk Technology Transfer Centre.

The teams which were selected to present at the RTT are now working on their presentations, business-plans and speeches.

It is known that 7-8 companies will present in Tomsk. All Tomsk companies which have qualified for the RTT will present in Tomsk.

Tech Tour is a three-day conference where local high-tech companies present their projects to European investors. The event is organized by the European Tech Tour Association, ETT. Every year Tech Tour events are held in different countries in Europe – Germany, Scotland, Spain, Norway etc. Russia welcomes Tech Tour for the second time. The event will be held in Moscow, Kazan and Tomsk.

Among the delegates of the RTT09 are major international investors, leading IT corporations and consultants. The format of the event provides for direct communication and establishment of partnership.

It is a wonderful opportunity for Siberian companies to meet professionals in high-tech venture investment.
