The Final competition of the Business of Innovation and Technology in Siberia 2010 will take place in Krasnoyarsk (International Exhibition Center Siberia) on 11 February.

17 teams from the Siberian cities of Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and Lesosibirsk will present their business-projects.

The projects represent various sectors, but the most prominent are the IT and high-technology equipment sectors. The other sectors are medicine, new materials and processes and resource-conserving equipment.

Among the expected guests and experts are Evgeny Ellinsky (Vice-president, MICEX) and Sergey Eremin (Strategic Technology Department, Microsoft Russia), Yan Ryazantsev (Head of Investment and Expertise Department, Russian Venture Company), Dionis Gordin (Managing Driector, Rusnano), Konstantin Fokin (President, Russian Business-Angels Association).

The prize fund of BIT Siberia 2010 is 400 000 rubles. The prize money is meant for project development and refinement of presentation.

The winner will automatically qualify for the semifinal of the Russia-wide BIT competition where they will have a chance to present their project to some of the major Russian and foreign investment and venture funds, private investors and business-angels.

The competitors will present their projects in the elevator pitch format. Each of the teams will have 7 minutes to explain their innovative ideas and the ways to commercialize them to a potential investor.

It is for the first time that the Final competition of BIT Siberia takes place in a city other than Tomsk. Krasnoyarsk received the right to host the Final thanks to the victory of the local team Proverim.com at BIT Siberia 2009.

BIT Siberia has been held since 2008. In the three years of its history it has proven its consistency as an instrument of innovation-driven development. BIT Siberia welcomes innovative projects lead by young developers who are ready to apply major efforts to transform their ideas into successful business. A great number of people from the innovations sector contribute to the competition events. Among them are professionals from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation, experts of MBA programs. The judiciary includes representatives of business and the government whose work is associated with innovations.

The BIT Siberia 2010 Final will take place on February 11, 14:00.
